Signs of Hatred in the Timbre
by Dan
Please note: MP3s are only kept online for a short time, and if this entry is from more than a couple of weeks ago, the music probably won't be available to download any more.
Repeat these things out loud as you listen: "I can't keep up with you, you're going too fast for me." "I don't love my wife, I want to be with you." "Stop wasting my time." "Is it raining in Canada?" "Is she still there?" "I don't speak English, I never spoke English before." This is a frozen summer song for nights with only smoke, trees, and glances. [Buy (only 100 in print)] Vic Thrill + The Saturn Missile - "Hi On Wade" In the future, every child will be born with a special button, located on the back of the knee joint, or "kneepit", that, when pressed, will give the child or person (they will have this button their entire lives) a last 2:04 of supreme living. It is unclear whether the person obtains super-powers for this time, but they will certainly be more effective to the world for that 2:04 than most other people in their regular lives. However, once pressed, it will be the final 2:04 of the person's (or child's) life. This is the song that plays in your brain during that time span. Wow! Thanks for Vic Thrill. It really got my morning off to a flying start. A couple of their Myspace samples are amazing as well. Posted by Half at July 3, 2006 9:00 AMVic Thrill! Wow, I thought the friend who introduced me to their quirky music a few years ago and I were the only two people on earth who even knew of them. Good stuff. Posted by muruch at July 3, 2006 11:41 AMThose were two great write-ups, Dan. And if you ever need to know the formal word for kneepits, it's 'poplites', one of my favorite never-used words. Posted by Kevin at July 3, 2006 9:12 PMT.D. Reisert sounds an awful lot like Jason Molina. Also the harmonica is very Neil Young-ish, whose a big influence on Molina. Posted by dave at July 4, 2006 12:35 AMT.D. is my new favorite, thanks to this post. way better than jason molina. Posted by noah at July 4, 2006 2:01 PMThe T.D. Reisert track is hauntiing me through my breakfast. Thanks so much Dan for, as always, a faboulus post. Posted by Mimi at July 5, 2006 2:38 PMPost a comment |
