Sun Kil Moon - "Carry Me Ohio" Singing nostalgic childhood remembrances above the tentative Don't be lonely, in this song you have a friend. *** There's not a lot to dislike about this song. Do you dislike Beach The Aislers set also show off some lo-fi Motown production and guitar Comments
Excellent Sun Kill Moon track ! Thanks ... Posted by Garrincha at February 1, 2005 12:10 PMi'll second that. haunting, emotional & incredible- definitely check out the rest of "Ghosts of the Great Highway" if you haven't already. Posted by holly at February 1, 2005 8:27 PMI dunno. I bought every one of Kozelek's records back when he was the Red House Painters, saw him play a couple times (I lived in SF), then all of a sudden lost interest. All his stuff sounded the same of a sudden, which isn't so bad except that it suddenly all sounded sodden and dull. This song sounds a bit better than those, but suffers from the same whatever-it-is flaw. Eh. The Aisler's Set, on the other hand, are now and always will be absolute aces. Sure, this song's not Henry's Dress playing out back in 1995 and doing "All This Time For Nothing" for the fifth time ever maybe, but nothing's ever going to match that (and if you weren't there, envy me). Amy is way too cool to get dissed in favor of Mark. Plus she wears better shoes. Posted by wcw at February 1, 2005 10:49 PMSean sorry to hear about Gmailswap (for old times I hit up the site just now and found your fairwell, which led me here). it was gmailswap that got me a Gmail account, and for that I thank you sir. :) anyway, nice to see you plugging Sun Kil Moon. Mark is one of my favorite musicians. In fact, I created a site about him. check it out if you get bored.. I have quite a few people on my forum. You should join. We're a nice bunch. :) cheers! Posted by Jason at February 2, 2005 1:59 AMI have always loved this Aislers Set song--it's gone on more mixes than anything else I have of theirs. A gem.
